Artistic opening — Ubuntu
'Ubuntu' is an African philosophy about the interconnectedness between all humans, and between humans and all of nature.
Johanna McBride's song 'Ubuntu' uses the common English translation of this idea:
'I am who I am because of you. We re who we are because of each other'
Our opening video features A Chorus of Women singing 'Ubuntu' with musical direction by Johanna and visual images by artist Sally Blake.
